The infamous 1994 war in Rwanda & Burundi wreaked havoc and decimated the entire social, structural, and financial systems. Survivors lost family members, homes, and income sources. Most displaced people who never got asylum elsewhere, some of whom got disabled from the war injuries, malnutrition and untreated illnesses remain vulnerable and at great risk. With political instability coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic, there are individuals who have been rendered destitute. They are crying for any type of help beginning from the basic food, clothing, and shelter.
Me and my child suffered rejection after my husband passed. With the level of poverty, we could go for days without a meal. The kind of support we have received from ASCl & well-wishers is overwhelming & we would like to thank everyone for their support.
